Back country nordic hiking

Nordic touring is an alternative activity to cross-country skiing, which requires a perfectly groomed and marked trail (classic or skating), and to alpine touring, which requires specific equipment that requires numerous manipulations (up and downhill position) for skis, boots and skins, as well as an excellent off-piste skiing technique for downhill skiing.

Nordic touring is practised in hilly terrain, therefore accessible, and does not require any specific handling because the heel is free at all times, but the boots are higher and more rigid (better hold).

The skis are wider but lighter, equipped with edges and an anti-backwards system (mini skin or scale), permanently fixed under the skis.

Practice on hilly terrain (softer relief) but technically demanding.

To be discovered absolutely this winter with Christian Belpois at the Snow Shop.
